When a Release needs To signal that a Release needs to be taken down before it goes live, the Release Creator shall communicate only an EndDate for the deal that is the street date has arrived, it is sufficient for the Release Creator to send a new NewReleaseMessage for that Release, albeit, with no Deal composite. If wanted, the Release Creator may communicate only a Deal with an EndDate set in the past.

For example, a Release previously communicated with a release date in the future (start date of 8th April, for instance) that needs to be taken down today (6th April) so that it does not go live on the 8th April needs to be taken down with an end date of yesterday (5th April).

Code Block
languagehtml/xml
<ValidityPeriod>
     <!—no start date, only end date with yesterday’s date -->
     <EndDate>2016-04-05</EndDate>
</ValidityPeriod>

The same approach can be used to reduce the rights before a street date. In that case, the Deal that is not to become active may simply be omitted from the new NewReleaseMessage.
