DisplayArtist roles are a major issue in Release Deliveries. DDEX's profiles define to have the full artist representation (as it would appear on an online store display) included with the "Artist" role. In cases of collaborations artists needs to be broken out into their constituent parts as either MainArtists or FeaturedArtists as shown below for “Robin Thicke feat. T.I. & Pharrell”:

<SoundRecordingDetailsByTerritory>
...
<!-- In ERN v3.7 and later -->
<DisplayArtistName>Robin Thicke feat. T.I. & Pharrell</DisplayArtistName>

<!-- Before ERN v3.7 -->
<DisplayArtist>
<PartyName>
<FullName>Robin Thicke feat. T.I. & Pharrell</FullName>
</PartyName>
<ArtistRole>Artist</ArtistRole>
</DisplayArtist>

<!-- for all versions -->
<DisplayArtist SequenceNumber="1">
<PartyName>
<FullName>Robin Thicke</FullName>
</PartyName>
<PartyId Namespace="...">123</PartyId>
<ArtistRole>MainArtist</ArtistRole>
</DisplayArtist>
<DisplayArtist SequenceNumber="2">
<PartyName>
<FullName>T.I.</FullName>
</PartyName>
<PartyId Namespace="...">456</PartyId>
<ArtistRole>FeaturedArtist</ArtistRole>
</DisplayArtist>
<DisplayArtist SequenceNumber="3">
<PartyName>
<FullName>Pharrell</FullName>
</PartyName>
<PartyId Namespace="...">789</PartyId>
<ArtistRole>FeaturedArtist</ArtistRole>
</DisplayArtist>
</SoundRecordingDetailsByTerritory>

Note that the example shows this approach for version 3.7 as well as older versions of the Release Notification Message Suite Standard.

This approach assumes that the message sender stores the individual entity relationships to resources and releases, as well as the concatenated display entities (it also assumes that companies have identifiers for each of these entities that can be included in the message).
