Technical information gathering

Before starting the technical integration process for the implementation of a DDEX standard, both the sender and receiver of the message need to gather the technical information and business requirements that will determine how their part of the implementation needs to be configured. The information usually includes issues such as:

  • Do you have all the data you need to send or receive about all the entities that make up the business transaction, such as, for example data about releases, musical works or contributors;

  • Do you have all the data you need to send or receive about all the commercial terms relating to the business transaction, such as, for example, pricing, royalty information, types of use or territories;

  • Depending on which standard you are implementing, have you chosen the right profile;

  • Have both sender and receiver agreed on the message choreography that will be used to determine how and when messages should be sent or received;

  • Do you have the server information for your business partner and the appropriate user account credentials?
