Music Licensing Company Message Suite and Choreography standard

MLC 1.4 enables music licensing companies, record companies, performer representatives, and other relevant parties operating in different territories to exchange structured metadata relating to sound recording and music video resources. This metadata includes information identifying the resources, the contributors associated with their creation, and the rights claims asserted in respect of those sound recording and music video resources.

The most recent version of the MLC standard to be published is version 1.4. (A successor version to MLC 1.4 has been published with RDR-N 1.5.)

The text of the MLC standard can be found here.
The XSD can be found here.

Remember, at least before going live with an implementation, you will need to take out a DDEX Implementation Licence. Information about the Implementation Licence can be found here and the application form is available here.

This section provides access to a large range of articles under different subject headings, about all aspects of MLC. This section of the knowledge base is searchable.
