Communicating impact dates in MEAD and PIE

One of the crucial aspects of the MEAD standard is that it allows a message senders to communicate an “impact date”, that is, the date when a track started receiving a significant amount of airplay, to a DSP. Impact dates are especially useful for helping music discovery on smart speakers and other devices with no screen.

The impact date is communicated in the Usage composite as shown below:
