MusicalWorkClusterNotification

A notification message requires at least one ClusterRoot, i.e. a musical work that is designated as the primary reference point for that cluster and to which all other cluster members are understood to refer. The minimum data requirements to specify such a ClusterRoot are:

  • A ClusterId;

  • A MusicalWorkId; and

  • A Title.

If adding a Contributor it is recommended to use the following values from the CreativeMusicalWorkContributorRole AVS for clarity and interoperability:

  • Composer;

  • Author;

  • Arranger; and

  • Adaptor.

A ClusterMember is an entity that forms part of a cluster in accordance with the disambiguation rules defined for the relevant Entity Cluster Type. In the context of a MusicalWorkCluster, a ClusterMember represents one or more resources — typically identified by an ISRC — that embody the musical work identified in the ClusterRoot.

Each ClusterMember requires at least:

  • A ResourceId (ideally an ISRC);

  • A ResourceType (indicating sound recording or music video) ;

  • A Title; and

  • A DisplayArtistName.

To disambiguate sound recordings more data points should be provided if possible, including the MembershipType (AudioFile and/or Metadata), Confidence (percentage level of certainty) and LinkVerification. LinkVerification indicates how the ClusterMember was validated for inclusion in the cluster. The following values may be used:

  • VerifiedByHuman;

  • CrossChecked;

  • NotVerified; and

  • UserDefined.

The overall level of trust of any given cluster can be derived from a combination of:

  • The sender of the message;

  • The creator of the cluster;

  • The Confidence percentage;

  • The LinkVerification value; and

  • MemershipType.
