MEAD information for a taken down release

If a record company sends a MeadMessage as part of an ERN message feed to a DSP, and if all deals for all Releases communicated in that feed have expired (incl. via a takedown message), then the DSP in receipt of that MeadMessage may no longer use the data provided in the MeadMessage.

There are three exceptions to this rule:

  • The DSP has received the same information from a different metadata provider as well as the releasing label;

  • The releasing label has sent the information independently of an ERN feed (as well); or

  • The releasing label has communicated to the DSP that the information may still be used after the Releases have been taken down.
